Your idea of universal is rather less than the universal ones I've seen, they take RTD (2,3 or 4 wire), thermocouple (universal - any letter), mV or mA. They give out V (various bases 0..5,0..10, -5..+5 etc), 4-20mA, RS485 or RS232. With 2 channel relay o/p as well. The ones from Omega have a programmable LED display on which you can change display colour to flag error and out of band conditions - the Omega units also have a web interface available as an extra. The ones from Amplicon are fully programmable, and can apply mathmatical functions to the input and process it to the output and the display. You pays your money, you takes your choice. Steve |
