If your system is intended to work only within a single house, one of the issues you need to address is how to stop your signalling getting out of your house and affecting other houses - and possibly the power company's systems.
Your power company may have specific requirements/restrictions in this regard, and there may also be national legal and/or regulatory issues.

Conversely, of course, you also need to consider your own immunity to signalling from other houses and/or the power company...
