#90865 - Microchip states PIC18F252 as Mature |
Dear all,
Very sorry to post a message about PIC controllers on this forum. This is just a information that Microchip product release 2005 (Page 22)states that some of the parts are MATURE & not recommended for new designs & advised to use the new replacements like for PIC18F252 the replacement is PIC18F2520 I was facing a picular problem of PIC18F252 hanging in between the operation & surprisingly the same controller card with PIC16F876 works at the same field location in the same setup & with the same other cards connected to the controller card. Also the controller card is completely identical except the fact that one of them have PIC18F252 & other has PIC16F876. I just happen to receive an information saying that the PIC 18F series has a shrink die & also on many forums thay are stated as unstable. I am really querious to know if this is true & if yes then are the replacements (Mostly an advancement) resolving the issues about the unstability of PIC18 series? |
