#90884 - Re: Unstable Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Sachin,
My experience has been the 18F458 has been a very reliable device. I have seen one device with an infant failure of, say, 500 we've installed so far on a product line. After installation, there have been no 18F458 failures. The '458 is powered via a 5 VDC linear regulator which is powered by an 8 VDC switcher which gets power from a 12 VDC PC supply. We are switching 10 amps @ 24 VDC through a resistive heater, controlling eight Peltier devices, one stepper motor, two solenoids and monitoring several opto devices and nine thermistors with the '458. We have taken care to opto isolate the 24 VDC based loads/devices from the '458. Cheers, Bruce |
