#91486 - Multiplexing
Responding to: ???'s previous message
If you don't feel like time-multiplexing your display (it will look dimmer then normal if you do) like Andy suggested, you may want to try the other type of multiplexing. TI makes a nice BCD to Seven Segment multiplexer ( http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/cd4511b.pdf ) for only $0.55 that requires only four input pins, contains a built in latch, and can source up to 25 mA per output pin. Thus, you could power 4 separate Seven Segment Displays off of only one port and may not even need any driving circuit after all.
