#92045 - Welcome
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hello Emem,

Welcome to the mystic, interesting, challenging, rewarding world of the 8 bitters!

Well, before we home in on the project for your final year, just ponder over these :

1. How much time do you have to design, build and deliver your project ? Particularly when this time also has to be shared with other subjects.

2. Will you get any financial support to build the hardware ? I atleast personally believe that a project based on MCU must be built and made to work. And the best way to start would be to buy an economical kit ( available form USD 50 onwards )and add the required peripherals alone. Many such links are available in this site itself. Only theory is not much fun.. and defenitley no big grades...

3. For a student project, right now don't worry about software. There are enough free software / manuals that you can get started with. Visit www.keil.com and spend plenty of time there. It is literally a ware house of free code snippets; manuals and a free IDE that is more than OK for a newbie. One another site would be www.opcube.com - you get a free assembler and also a compiler that are merged into an Integrated Development Environment.

4. All the above are possible ( very possible ) PROVIDED you are WILLING to sit TIGHT for hours on end and read, read, read , re.... No short cuts here.

Come back with specifics and we are ready to help.

Raghu
