Yes Jan , all your three points are very valid. I personally prefer the DS1232 as it has most things that I need in a reset controller, and is available easily, economically.
The idea to use a jumper ( that can select either the ALE or a port pin ) is a good one. Use ALE when you just need a reset controller with PushButton interface; use port pin when you want real WD implementation. Raghu |
