what you show will work and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it save that you consume 5mA both in on and off state. Also, check datasheets, there is a chance that, if the port is at the highest Vol the datasheet allow, there the transistor in the coupler will turn on.
If you connect Vcc - 330 ohms - collector emitter - port pin you only use power when the coupler is on and no derivative I know of pull current to gnd when the pin is high. Erik |
