Does the slave have to take part in the 'conversation' with the master or it's possible to establish a 'one way' stream of data from master to slave and thus free the MISO pin of master for general IO? Of course this is device-specific, but for the vast majority of SPI devices I have used, they are essentially 'one way' slaves that do what you tell them with nothing of value to send back. For those devices, having MISO connected is not a requirement for the interface to work. |
