As you have only 2 signals, what's the point in converting it so serial? You only need 2 port pins to connect it direct! And why bother with an external counter, which you then also have to feed into the 8051 (plus you'd need some way to synchronise it)? Why not just have the 8051 drive the select lines of the multiplexer? |
