#96509 - the non-trivial excursion
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I have the use of a capture input on the PCA, so I can measure the time between the edges. From this I can deduce the following:-
1 bit time high
1 bit time low
2 bit time high
2 bit time low

But, in real life, you will also detect the following: high or low for somewhere in between 1 and 2 bit time, for significantly less than 1 bit time, for more than 2 bit time. This may be due to noise etc., or (usually the >2 bit) due to protocol (start-of-frame special character - probably does not apply for RC5, but for the general case it needs to be mentioned).

Do you want to cope with these, too?
