Yes, if your XTAL2 pulse width matches the strobe reqirements. AFAIK XTAL2 waveforms are sinus and not sqare/trapezoidal [ binary type ]. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

If you are using a Crystal do remember to buffer this signal before feeding any device.
