When my am-meter shows .7 amps total flowing through fuse and I attempt to step the motor, it has no power, just very slight finger pressure on the dampener will stall it. I'm sure that there is not anything close to 3 amps/phase flowing. I know from previous experience with the same motor/switch combination when 6 amps total is flowing the motor is very hard to hold at slow speeds and still has quite a bit of torque at 800 steps/sec. So I'm reasonably sure that my meter is ok.
