#101884 - SBC
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Well ultimately I liked the idea of using the SBC as a control for a robotic application, and the idea of tons of external ram makes it even more appealing; but this basically limites I/O line severaly. I've decided on using an 8 channel, 8 bit external ADC, which I can basically use to read 8 sensors with only 2 I/O lines. I think more than likely I'll just use a "rigged" bit-banging method for outputting data to a second 8051. For sending, I wouldnt think it would be much harder than rotating the Acc left with C, and outputting C to a pin and clocking a second pin, repeat. The second 8051 would just be idle with the incoming data or clk line being on an INT. Once the data is read, I'd probably use some type of table on the second 8051; getting an 8 bit value and looking on the table to see what to do with it.
