On my practice the needed amound of SRAM was typically enormeous overrated.
I have 2Mbytes of "RAM" (actually flash configured as RAM) in one of my projects. Yes, you are right, I only use, say, 8k, but which 8k is selected at runtime and this is freestanding, not connected by an umbilical cord to a PC. I totally agree that the need for "real" RAM usually is a matter of laziness, rather than a real need, but huge RAM apps DO exist. Erik |
