#102020 - crystals, but problem fixed.... sorta :)
Responding to: ???'s previous message
First off, it should be noted that the SBC from here with an 11.0592Mhz crystal has never given me any problems programming it at 57600. One of you replied you had never programmed above 38400 without problems, however I've seen none so far on this SBC.

Second, I essentially had fed it several crystals. I could not get anything to work. I'm allllll outta crystals, having a 3.57Mhz, an 8Mhz, and a 20Mhz - although for a little table bot, 20Mhz seems like hella overkill. I was going through the table at http://www.keil.com/c51/baudrate.asp and noticed that 1200 was 2.12% off, so I set the MTK up to 1200 and repeatedly attempted to connect, and like I always did, I got junk back; but one time I got part of the word "Loader" to show up.

I closed the MTK and opened the older, obsolete loader420.exe (also available on dallas' FTP) and ran it. Loader420 supports a long list of non-standard baud rates. I went through this list and found that 450 was supported, and according to that baudrate calculator site, at 8Mhz when 0D2h was tried, it would hit 452 baud on the chip. I opened it up and clicked the loader button, and the Dallas loader bar came write up and has ever since.

Quite a bad way to do this. 8Mhz crystal, programming it at 450 baud... but it works. And what I have in store for this little board, I will only need to program it a few times and then its finished.
