I was attempting to refer to MIDI guitar controllers.
Robert Revens might be advised to use a drum stick instead of a screwdriver or at least simulate the environment the end-user will be using. The piezos I have seen had output that varied drastically depending on the surface that was used, the distance to the piezo and the "hitting elment".
