#10384 - RE: Weird LCD problem |
Kalimera Panos,
Before changing to a shielded cable, try adding a wire from the ground of the LCD (usually 1 of the mounting holes) to the power supply 0V. At work, we have LCDs on the front of our parking ticket machines, with at least 60cm of unshielded cable; the LCD is bolted to the case which is in turn bolted to the planet! BTW, does the LCD give a correct ready status after being zapped? (You are, of course, making use of this signal, n'est-ce pas?) Maybe there's a software solution to recovering the LCD. If so, you would probably not even notice that it had been knocked out! Regards, Richard |
