Well basically after the PCB is assembled and tested you can put it inside a molded and then the molded is filled with a compound that will make it a solid block with external conections this procedure is use for a lot of companies, this compound can be clear or any color I use black because it also hide all my components so after potting you have a solid square block of plastic with a terminal blocks, wires or any external connection that you want to use.
