#10858 - RE: How secure are "security" bits? |
Hi Bert,
I have different informations about the security of Atmel micros. Some tells, that some improvements made on the current revisions. So only older seems unsecure. But I found another way: I applied 24V on some pins accidientally. Then these pins are fully dead, but all other pins still working. Also no higher current consumption was seen. But since these pins are needed for programming so further programming and read back was no longer possible. Yes, this can decrease the reliability but it can be worth a try to get best software protection. Peter |
