#114868 - SMBus include SCL and SDA lines
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I’m using microcontroller from Silabs, in which the SDA and SCL lines are in the SMBus peripheral. I’ve gone through the I2C bus application using Silabs chip. There, they are using the SMBus for the communication between the master and slave.
Also,in the hardware connection,i've left the pin 7-SQW freely. Is it is necessary to connect any output like buzzer to pin 7?
Is there any difference in programming the I2C bus through SMBus? I’ve tried both the codes using SMBus peripheral logic and normal I2C bus method. In both the cases the status of the SMBus is IDLE. what could be the reason for this idle state? Just tell me the key points that are to be noted in the RTC programming.
