#116255 - No unfair intentions
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Erik,

I have no unfair intentions with this. I will probably even tell other compiler manufacturers about the header file I'm creating and give it to them. It is my intention to help not just SDCC, but all 8051 C compilers (vendors).

As Andy pointed out, I was talking about helping derivative manufacturers to create one header file with (their) mcu-specific information for several tool chains. Atmel for example tried to do so, but did not yet get it right.

For compiler vendors it's equally difficult to get all the little differences between derivatives right.

If you think I'm asking people to plagiate a compiler user manual by asking these few simple questions I'm sorry. It feels like exageration to me, but if this is how it is I will end up asking the same questions to all compiler vendors. I was just hoping to get the info quickly, packed together in one thread out in the open ready for everybodies use.

Maarten
