It's no so much the registration as it is the installation of all these software tools. Every single one of them wants to claim .c and .h files as theirs for one thing.
They happily coexist at my place they just have each their directory and any attempt to claim anything outside (save my source/obj etc) get them expunged.

They never get it right when uninstalling.
Install in a KNOWN directoty (mine are all in subdirectories of c:\tools\manufacturer\) and after uninstall, remove the directory.
