#116365 - Earth Fault

Hello Everybody,

we are using 24v and 5v power supply for our circuit.we have generated 5v from 24 v.we want to monitor these power supplies for shorting with earth.i.e if any of the supply points get shorted with earth we want to sense this shorting and glow an led through microcontroller. the microcontroller we are using is p89v51rd2.we will be sensing this fault through a priority encoder.
we have very little idea of how to sense this fault and transform the voltage level to ttl.how will we sense this fault .can we transform this level to ttl using a zener diode.

thank you in advance
