#11677 - RE: Good Transceiver For serial BUS?

Have you ever heard of current sharing
resistors ? I bet the paralleled outputs are
fighting each other....

Hi steve,
Let me tell it more clearly what I am doing. I have connected
the serial bus of my 4 slave uc's to a master on board
via 74Ls243(4 transceivers)in a manner that the master could
disable slave bus and could communicate with the host by enabling
the host(PC) line and simultaneoulsly disabling the slave serial
bus(to avoide crosstalk) and in these 74LS243 I have wired 3 drivers
each for transmit/receive to share the current.Do you say that I should
put a small value resistances in my transmit/receive bus to limit the
the current?

Yes it is But can this be used as a one side driver as it can handle
higher current than 243.

I am afraid no I am enabling and disabling only 1 chip at a time.Do you
think this heating is due to lower sourcing capablity of '243 or due
to this rapid en/disabling ,should I use '245?? or some other chip if
yes then which ?

can you please explain more about OC devices or some link.

Not having fun in this hot environment :) .
