He is keeping his application a secret, so we don't know if it's under DOS, LINUX, OS/2, or what.

Software, yes, that's a pain, but you only pay for it once, and can reuse it whenever you like, once you've learned how to use it.

Win32 won't like him to fiddle with direct I/O at all. He'll have to make some provision, and the PS/2 hooks are already there.

Some PS/2 taps are published freeware. He'd have to read up on how to use it, of course.
