Reason i used PC817
The PC817 properly driven has a propdelay of 18us, change that to 20 for ease of calculating.

This basically means that at 50kHz you will be totally screwed and I would never run anything without a safety margin of less than 5 which maxes this device at 10kHz. Note that if you do not drive an optocoupler at optimal values, the delay increases dramatically.
