thnx for replying kai i but couldnt find enough data for 74hc598.i will go for steve's advice but is 8255 really a bad idea??.im engineering student n was thinking tht these too many latches will cost me more as when i will go for the pcb making of my circuit n thts why i select 8255 thinking it to be economical ????
