In your case, my guess is (assuming your talking 8051) that you would need to select the lowest xtal frequency that divides down nicely into UART baudrate, while allowing the CPU to perform all the desired functions. There are also other ways to reduce power consumption too, but this would all depend on the following:
- What MCU are you using? (ie: 89C52 or whatever) - What are you specifically doing with all those UARTS? - What is the resolution and color of the LCD. Judging by your post you only wish to have one and the same image loaded into the LCD? - Does the MCU currently have control of the LCD backlight?
