#122651 - Help selecting a 8052
I have been developing with a Atmel at89c51ac3. I am running it at 33.3 mhz (Osc) and I have X2 mode enabled. It's in a PLCC 52 package. But...

It not fast enough. The datasheet says it will run at 30 Mhz in x2 mode. So I am already overclocking. Atmel does not have any other fasters chips in the PLCC 42 ot 52 package.

I like this chip because of the ISP UART option and 1k or so XRAM.
I already have some firmware mostly written.
And since I don't have a surface mount soldering iron, it needs to be in a PLCC package.

I did look thru the Chips matrix on this site. I found some SiLabs Chips that would work good except there not PLCC. I found other chips that looked good but I can not find a source of small qtys.

Any Ideas. Does this mean I need to goto AVR or ARM...
My rought calculation are (6 clocks cycles per inst divide 33mhz is about 5.5 million inst per second). I figuare it need to be triple that.
