On my oldest ice, MetaLink I think, it requires you to qualify local variables by function and file (module). Most new ICE's do this for you. Thanks for the tip about the SI Labs ICE. So far I'm not terribly impressed with it. It's pretty basic compared to the Acqura one that I'm totally smitten with. One also runs into problems when the variable is kept in a register and never makes it to RAM.
