#124814 - that is not just a debug adapter
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Well the debug adapter was $35, not free. I guess I don't have your connections...
that is not just a debug adapter, it is required to download the program, thus, for debugging purposes, it IS free.

Anyway, the horrible-ness is because I need to go back and mess with a bunch of files used in another 8051 variant that I have included in this new project. You know, code re-use.
I would not necessarily do so. I maintain a ton of code (someone elses) and have applied the prefacing of the variables just to the places where debugging was necessary and - of course - everything else in that area "now that I'm here". I know, when working with that old inherited stuff that if there is no preface, and the variable name is 'index' or some such to LOOK OUT.

BTW this is not on a SILabs, but a 'regular' ICE with the same issue. Since that ICE is 'ancient' and the problem, very well, may have been fixed, I shall not mention which.

Erik

PS when changing variable names en masse I alwaus compare the .hex 'before' and 'after' thus no 'clerical errors' slip through.
