I firmly believe Linux is the way to go, but I know it's not there yet. I am trying to do my bit to get it there in our field. PS. AFAIK the hardware in question is an mcu-based parallel programmer, with published sources and serial communication with PC; it would be not a hopeless attempt to revive it under any operating system supporting. Would it accept intelhex-type commands in AT89C51RD2-style, FLIP has a linux port which could be possibly (ab)used... Do you have a link to the published code? As far as FLIP is concerned, it uses the Tcl language so it runs fine under Linux - unfortunately the source code is not published. Ian |
