he's got the chips and a programmer. The only thing is that damn' Windoze to make it go.

But, with slight "reverse engineering" of the sources at links I gave above, it should be relatively easy to use the programmer from some decent terminal emulator (capable of binary file uploading and proper xon/xoff handshake). Now it's a question, whether such can be found under Linux... Ian?

[Edit] sorry I didn't notice the original "PC-side program" works under wine, so that's OK. For SDCC, I don't C so I don't know, but I suspect if AT89C51 is no go, AT89S51 won't go either...
