there should be no more than 1cm PCB trace to crystal and capacitors from the chip. also the ground connection of the caps should be to the gnd pin on the uC if you are not using 4 layer boards.
Just an afterthoughth: you DO have a 100nF cap directly across Vcc and Gnd Erik |
