#130812 - Reak!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Adrian Worley said:
I used the same term that the guy who demonstrated the Bluetooth gear used. He said the BT module had a real UART, and that it worked at a nominal 3.3V. He asked if the UART in the AT89C55WD was a real UART. I am trying to answer that question.

I see!
To answer his question, you need to find what he meant by a "real" UART!

The AT89C55WD does contain an actual hardware UART; but that doesn't necessarily mean that your system is using it!
That shouldn't matter to the Bluetooth unit - all it should need should be the correct timings and correct voltages.

I couldn't find a description of the pins in the Atmel spec sheet, http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resou...oc1921.pdf (section 10)

The voltage specs are in the table on p26 - "27. DC Characteristics"
