#135363 - off board i2c |
Hello forum
Just read the "Master ->Slave communication" thread, and done a search for i2c and long wires. I'm in the midle of a design with digital inputs, digital outputs and analog outputs. For different purposes, different configurations will be needed, and in order to save pcb real estate, it would come in verry handy if the main board just had some basic in and out, and the bells and whitsles could be added if needed. Just a litle pcb with a pcf 7574 or a TDA 8444 and a SHORT ribboncable to the main board. The big question is "wires" and "i2c". In some threads the conclusion seems to be "i2c must NEVER leave the board" - in some other threads the opinon might say a foot (33 cm) or so. For my purpose a one foot ribboncable will be more than sufficient. Has any of you girls or guys done something like that? Did it work? My i2c is bit banged from a DS89c450 Any comments apreaciated Per |
