I think that a concensus has been reached: If there is a '51 derivative in the system, the question is relevant. We discuss CPLD (inside the E5 and discrete), we discuss how to set '51 data in an outside latch etc. Where is there a need for an "electronics corner". If someone is developing an alarm clock using a 555 that question can find many other forums, we have - staying within the area of the forum - discussed real time using the '51. As Craig says "if there is a '51 somewhere in the project, we will discuss it".
