#136735 - not a good idea Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Now connect input XTAL1 of second microcontroler with output XTAL2 by resistor nearly 100 Ohm.
not a good idea 1) XTAL1 is an undefined load (I have yet to see a datasheet that specify it) 2) the capacitance of the trace and the XTAL1 input will unbalance the crystal going in parallel with the 33pf. 3) this will possibly succeed in 'testing' but never in 'design'. 4) A free standing crystal oscillator is $1.30@1 from DigiKey (if you buy elsewhere this is a 'reference price') why go into the dangerous unknown to save such a pittance? Erik PS i do not rate the above post as 'answer is wrong' since if "putting it together and hoping it works" is good enough for the OP the answer is not 'wrong' |
