#13863 - RE: Position encoder |
Hi!
A lot of thanks for all for advices! Lance, I am sure my device is absolute position encoder ("Absolutwertgeber" in German) but I don't know if it is using uni- or bidirectional interface. It is SSI with RS422 outputs (I am sorry for mistake from first message) interface, so I think it is unidirectional. Receiver sends clock, encoder is changing data line. In addition: I have compared clock signal and data line. During half of turn (from i.e. 0 to 180 degree) encoder sets "H" (200ns) on the data line after each "L" to "H" transition of clock line (10 ms), and it is always sending "H" after each clock pulse. But from 180 to 360 degree encoder resets data line ("L" state) and I can see only straight line on the oscilloscope's screen. I have made a mark on the encoder wheel and package and "switching" is always in the same position. Best regards, Jacek |
