a lot of functions, which you want, can you found on my example code:

E.g. reading a temperarue sensor, creating a menu, display some values, set a value, build timer functions.

So I think, its a good point to start with your own program.

E.g. I think, its not too hard to change from LED to LCD and add some comparing routines and switching on / off the heater.
