The Keil compiler (BL51 linker) does not allow you to hard assign the idata segment. I have two 16-char ring buffers in idata for the serial port. To make the math simple I align them on 16byte boundaries. The Keil engineer could not show me how to make this work with the BL51 linker. It does work like a charm with LX51
