#151447 - Secure IAP (In Application Programming) |
I would like to be able to allow firmware downloading over the internet, but need the file to be encrypted using DES or AES encryption to be decrypted by a secure bootloader. The ideal solution is available for the Atmel AVR series chip (check out the AVR230 application note on their web site), but I don't seem to be able to find a suitable solution for any 8052 core processors. Does anyone know of an 8052 core micro that has this feature of being able to keep the bootloader memory sector (with the security key) 100% secure while still allowing In Application Programming, and 2nd, any good bootloader firmware with DES or AES (or other security type firmware) and appropriate key code firmware loading like the AVR?
I'm surprised that this isn't more popular which makes me also wonder if I'm missing something about secure IAP. Is there an easier solution that I'm not aware of? I don't need ultra security, just want to keep other manufacturers from copying my code. Thanks. |
