#151456 - the balancing act Responding to: ???'s previous message |

You have to assume that anyone that wants your code will get it. You need to provide value elsewhere which will separate you from the thief of your code. This is a balancing act. Once it pays off to break into a house or a mcu, it will happen sooner or later. In both cases, there are a lot of variables entering the equation, and maybe also a few unknowns; nevertheless, even a couple of relatively small or seemengly insignificant steps might deter a lot of potential thieves. Just as an example, even if I have my household well insured and do have a burglar alarm installed, I still do lock my door. JW |
