#154491 - software problems with DL2TM programmer
(English isn't my native speaker, so don't blame me if I use strange expressions.)

Hello,

I built a lightly modified version of the DL2TM programmer for 2051/4051 uCs. But I experience problems with the software. I already tried IC-Prog, DG5DBZ (had to be patched because of the runtime error 200 ...) and WinATProg. None of these have an influence on the voltage level of the LPT lines. Furthermore I have to run IC-Prog under WinXP in a Win98 compatible mode to avoid crashes. WinATProg runs only in this mode without error messages as well. However it still crashes when I try to flash or clear the uC. This happens independently of whether the programmer is connected to the PC or not. So I guess the software is simply obsolete.

Does anybody use this programmer? I hope so because I can't find information/solutions to that problem.

There is a tool (download: http://rapidshare.de/files/393...g.zip.html ) that seems to be programmed especially for DL2TM. It can put certain bit-patterns on the LPT port so you can test the programmer by measuring the votlage on the pins of ICs. But there is also a problem with this tool. Although it runs without errors I can't measure the displayed voltages. The program even seems not to influence the data on the LPT port at all (I chose the LPT1 correctly). All three PCs which were tested behave the same way. Thus a hardware problem can be excluded.

So what's the crux of the matter? I have no ideas anymore. HELP
