There are crosstalks between lines in even a moderately long cable (1m). Also, not always have the cables enough return (a.k.a. ground) wires, and if they do, the gadgets tend not to have connected all the ground pins of the connector. Another gotcha is the poorly defined levels and output impedance of the LPT port. The third gotcha are the ever-present ground loops. JW |
