#154739 - both atmel and Temic
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Charles, can you please confirm which one did you use, and what exactly were your findings?

Originally I used the Temic T89C51RD2, then the atmel version,
AT89C51RD2.

Edit:
I forgot the date code on the atmels I have are old (2001).

Both of them have the bootloader at FC00 in flash and I could erase it with my Labtool programmer. Then it would never work with ISP software such as flip.

The only way I could fix it was with the no touch method (downloaded here)
OR
reprogramming the bootloader @ 0xFC00, and reprogramming the XAF file (or setting the SBV to 0xFC, whatever).

here is the file from a brand new atmel AT89C51RD2(never programmed, never erased)

I would be curious to know whether or not it is the same as the Phillips one (probably not)

you have to set the SBV to 0xFC in order for this to work.

Jan:
I have used the newer AT89C51ED2. I think that one might have the bootloader code in the rom (not sure) BUT I never had trouble with those ones, not even once!

Good Luck
