#15677 - RE: IRDA\\\\\\\\Palm Interfaced device |
john s., i was reading your postings again and realized that we may be talking about different things with our use of the word "syncing".
my initial assumption was that you meant record updating and refreshing between two databases or computers; a higher level operation. i now consider that you may mean syncing as in opening a data transfer... i.e. how do you get the palm to acknowledge that the irda traffic is something to which it should participate? a suggestion... you might want to test your ir hardware out with a much simpler ir printer interface. it won't help you access the project complexity, but its the fastest way to confirm your basic ir hardware. its nice to know your hardware works before you start debugging a irda protocol package. when we were are that stage of development, we were able to send greetings to a laptop identifying our identification... though that shouldn't have been so easy. :) i think our laptop code must have been too tolerant. the ir printer was a much better test. duh |
