#157368 - Get something ready to do to start... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
For the first beginner I would suggest that you get the board and debug kit shown on this page:
SiLabs C8051F226 Development Kit with Prototype Area For 69 US$ you get an MCU development board that is ready built, a USB JTAG downloader, programmer, debugger pod, power supply, and CD with SiLabs IDE software, trial version of Kiel development tools and a sample program or two. This board even comes with a schematic, "get started" directions, and a MCU controllable LED ready installed on the board. Get this going, make a program to blink the LED at your 5 second delayed rate, see it run and you will be well on your way to being rather comfortable with a very practical microcontroller. This board supports a small wiring area where you can add some additional electronics as you fine tune your new skills and become venturesome to expand your horizon. Eventually you will be fully capable of contemplating whether to ask the question of yourself if you want to try making your own board. Good Luck Michael J Karas |
