data sheet has been quite redundant


Either switch to a RS485 chip that has a datasheet that you can read, or come back with more explicit questions about what you do not understand about the chip and how it is used. Have you googled for other references than just the datasheet? Possibly application notes or schematics of other products that are using this chip?

The master is to communicate with multiple slaves, and also with the PC. but AT89c51 has only one UART!!! what's the work around?


The workaround is trivial: Select the correct processor.
